For: Freelancers and agencies
The useful outcome: A delivery-ready checklist
1. Select only the delivery files
Compare the agreed deliverables with the project folder and place final files in a clean staging area. Exclude drafts and internal material unless the recipient has asked for them.
- Compare with the agreed deliverable list
- Keep working material elsewhere
- Use a clean staging folder
2. Add a map to the package
Use readable folder names, an index, and a README that says where to begin. Explain special viewing requirements in plain language.
- Name the first file to open
- Include an understandable inventory
- State special viewing requirements
3. Open it from the recipient side
Download or open the ZIP separately, follow the README, and check one file in every folder. Correct missing files before delivery.
- Open one item from each folder
- Match contents to the index
- Label a corrected package clearly
Questions, answered.
Why create an index if folders are named?
An index gives the recipient a quick inventory and helps both sides confirm that the agreed files are present.
What should happen to a late correction?
Make a clearly dated replacement package and state which version it supersedes.
