The useful outcome: A manageable household routine
Name the work that repeats
Write actions that make sense to anyone at home: replace filter, schedule inspection, or check smoke alarm date. Avoid category names that hide the next action.
- Start with jobs that are easily forgotten
- Write one action per task
- Sort one-off work from recurring work
Use dates with judgment
Give a due date only when it supports a real routine. Seasonal tasks may be reviewed monthly; one-off jobs can be removed after completion. Notes should explain the job, not hold sensitive records.
- Use seasonal dates where they help
- Explain exceptions in short notes
- Review responsibility together
Keep the list dependable
Review the list together, export a backup when chosen, and inspect any calendar import in the receiving app. Browser saves remain local to that browser.
- Export before major browser changes
- Check imported calendar dates locally
- Choose the next household review
Questions, answered.
Who should own a task?
Assign an owner when it avoids ambiguity. For shared jobs, use the note to explain the arrangement rather than assigning a misleading single person.
Can the list notify us?
No. The tool does not send notifications; calendar reminders, if wanted, are configured in the calendar after manual import.
