Select material for real conditions
An offline-kit project starts with the setting where reference material is needed: a site visit, travel day, or field task. Collect only approved notes, procedures, contact details, and checklists that people are entitled to carry. The first workshop identifies the questions someone must answer with no connection and rejects background material that makes the kit harder to search.

Search terms matter: use the names staff actually say, then test likely misspellings or abbreviations. Long source documents can be summarized only when the owner approves the summary; the kit should point back to the controlled source for material that must remain exact.

Run an offline use test
A practical deliverable can include a locally downloaded draft and an offline search test on the intended browser or device. The tester opens the file with connectivity unavailable, locates several answers, and records unclear headings or missing notes. A custom project can specify an update cadence and named content owner; automatic updates are not assumed.

Can you use our internal procedure material?
